Tavasz is our first Vizsla. He was bred by Alex Richard of Kivalo Vizslas in London, Ontario. After two years of research, visits and discussion, we knew that Alex had excellent Vizslas and was a great person to have as a mentor. This has all proved true and Tavasz is a sweet, handsome boy with excellent movement, a fantastic head, super temperament and a terrific nose for birds.

Tavasz was the top conformation Vizsla for three years in Canada (2003-2005) and was a top 10 Sporting Dog in Canada in 2004.  He won the Vizsla Canada National Specialty in 2004, and the Vizsla Society of Ontario Regional Specialty in 2003. He has had four all-breed Best in Show wins in his career, and many Awards of Merit at Canadian and US Specialty shows.  His first dog show was the Vizsla Club of America National Specialty in 2001, and he won Reserve winners dog from the 6-9 month class and third in his sweepstakes class. He is also one of the first three Vizslas to earn the new Grand Champion title from the Canadian Kennel Club. Tavasz is now retired from conformation showing except for the odd specialty show.

Marnie handled Tavasz to a Companion Dog obedience title in 2004, and a Canine Good Neighbour title in 2005. Brian handled him for his Field Dog Junior title in 2002. Tavasz and Marnie are currently getting ready for CDX and Novice Agility competitions, and already have one AKC agility leg (first place and perfect score!) and one AKC CD leg. They recently finished Tavasz’s AGN and AGNJ titles!

Tavasz was bred to Indi in February, 2007, who gave birth to six puppies (three girls, three boys) on April 12, 2007. The puppies are all healthy and confident, and Tavasz has been a tolerant and curious father!
